A good example of this is I did nightfall x3 with friends and I got 1 exotic helmet 11 strange coins and a legendary engram...I had less deaths and more kills than the other 2 guys combined. But guess what the other 2 guys got...that's right they got gally. Even though they hardly did a thing. So how did they earn there's if they hardly did anything. So I have no shame in buying mine from xur. And tbh after using it. I'll only use it for poe or raids. I much prefer my truth and dragons breath...
