It (in my opinion) shows how dangerous the hive are but after you beat the first mission on the moon he should be buried up on the hill where you begin the Taniks strike

I can agree with your opinion. Leaving a dead Guardian on their doorstep as a warning. Makes them seem deadly and dangerous! I can also agree that he needs something. Not just to be trampled on by everything that steps foot on the moon.
