Put it this way, I stopped playing Destiny cold turkey not long after Dark Below came out.
Yeah, me too. I was out for six months until HoW. What caused me to come back was that it seemed that Bungie was turning a corner. They opened the Reef to all. They let us ascend our weapons. They seemed to be showing some love, so I rewarded them with a purchase. This TTK thing, though? Meh. No thanks, Luke.

 • Bare in mind, odds are there will be another "great deal" like the Legendary Edition too down the line. I can see people holding off on TTK just to see what kind of offers they put out there later on.

 • Yeah but the only way I find myself staying. Is if all my hard work in year one actually means something.

 • Indeed. Cause is probably the biggest concern of it all. Year 1 is made obsolete, what about in Year 3? Will everything in Year 2 be treated the exact same way? It ultimately would mean that there is zero progression, that concept is just an illusion designed to keep players grinding longer for gear that is made pointless in the end. Its grinding for the sole sake of grinding with no end or true purpose.
