But at the same time, do we really want Destiny to be like other games? Another big thing to keep in mind is like I said in my post, Bungie themselves have been very up front that the game is an FPS, not an MMO or even an RPG. They might try to emulate some aspects from these, but they are creating an FPS game first and foremost. Case in point, Project Blackout was going on for years and all of their weapons remained relevant the entire time. It all boiled down to personal preference. In a shooter game you wanna see a huge listing of weapons for you to choose from. This kinda goes hand in hand with a point I made a year ago, that it should always be about adding more to the current content, not replacing what is already there.
The main thing I want to see is for weapons not to be defined by their Max Damage, cause that's how other games work. And in those games you're essentially just swinging a sword or whatever, the weapons don't really have all that much brain power needed for them. Guns in FPS games work differently, though. Every aspect about them gives a certain kind of character and play style.
The other thing I'm not understanding is that you would think Raid Weapons/Armor, which are from Endgame content and just as difficult, if not more so, to acquire than Exotics, would also be able to ascend. I mean those are Raids, Vault of Glass and Crota's End. And now they are adding a new one, which is great. People want MORE of everything, which is what you would expect. But if the Legendary stuff that drops in the Vault and Crota's End are just as obsolete along with the rest of the Year 1 content, what is the point? New Players will do them maybe once or twice and then quickly stop caring, especially with there not being any matchmaking available for either raid.
Just seems like they are shooting themselves in the foot with all this.

I guess. And raid gear is easy to acquire. Just play the raid. I've gotten plenty of raid armor, doesn't mean It's hard to get. It's all the RNG. Such as borderlands, sometimes awesome gear drops, sometimes it's just more cash.
