The problem with this argument is you see the game as a cohesive whole. Think of the good aspects. If it was a CoD game, which they make every year, your old gear wouldn't even exist in the new one. They already hinted at our exotics able to be ascended, so who cares about the lengendaries? "But I like my fatebringer". Sure, so does everyone, but the fact is the game is getting better and better. Just because they are scraping the old doesn't mean the new is going to let us down. For all we know, they might make new, better versions of legendaries. Maybe we'll get a souped-up version of the fatebringer, that causes chain explosions. Stop looking so dour, I'm sure bungie has a secret master plan to shock us. As for the whole, "fanboy" thing, if you don't like the game, then don't play it. Don't be upset with other players simply because they like the game more than others do.

  • First, the game should be cohesive as a whole. Each part feeding the whole. Second, "the game is getting better and better" Not even close. That is the assumption that every fanboy threw out after the vanilla release, then after TDB and after HoW and it didn't. Bungievision's demonstrated pattern of conduct is to fill the atmosphere with spin, release garbage, then reap the profit. When the bitching starts fill the air with even more spin, or just ignore it all together. TTK for content is going to be basically TDB and HoW combined. A handful of story missions, more PvP BS, and a huge emphasis on the "Our way or the highway" development mantra. They build this game around planets/moons but only give us a couple of blocks of space to play in. "We think 10 years with the same weapons would be boring", their declared principle of You can't play endgame content unless You you find people to play it with. " We won't find you friends" as their reasoning for no OMM. All of this is coming from a company that used to care about the quality of the games they put out and about the players. Now they'd rather be dismissive about the players and keep blathering on about their position/opinion. They'd rather continue with the corrupted development plan from this gaming late term abortion and ignore the Mass call for changes. They'd rather throw emblems, shaders, and sparrows at the problem, than address these issues directly.

  • They are addressing the problem. They won't make raid lfgs because WE are supposed to form a group. They are fixing the story and content issues by adding a ton more. People want everything instantly, but how many of us even know how hard it is to change the game? We say, "oh its easy, just change this or make this." Doing what we ask takes tons of new coding, and with bungie trying to keep us entertained, they will lack to fix a couple problems until later. It IS getting better. If it wasn't, I wouldn't have pre-ordered the game. I'm seeing this game out. Now, if the game doesn't keep me in it enough, of course I'll leave later, but for the moment, I'm content with their efforts to bring us a game we really like. Sure it was early, but I'd prefer early than waiting a year or who for a couple fixes to a game I could have been playing that whole time.

  • On the matter regarding matchmaking for raids and such.

  • How hard is it to the game change? They promoted the game they with pre release vidocs in 2013, then less than a year before release they gut the entire story. One day they had a full story, the next day it was gone. That's how fast the game can change.

  • Or they proposed things they were unable to finish. Tell me, do YOU have coding experience? Cuz i sure as hell don't. Who are we to tell programmers, "oh it's easy, just change it", without having any idea HOW to change it. I'm not a fanboy, but I feel like we hate too much on them. They are busy trying to satisfy 9 million players, and they are like, 100 people? More? I'm not sure. Point is, don't tell them how to do their job unless you can help them fix it.

  • *Has 6 years worth of college education dealing with Video Game Design classes* Its definitely doable for them, trust me. Especially when they have the tech and manpower. Its not just one person doing the programming, its an actual full blown team of developers who have 15-20+ years worth of experience with it.

  • Right. So let the full blown team do their work. Design, ha! I'm in college for programming. The two aren't very close.

  • But if they can upgrade Exotics why not the Legendary ones too? And naw, other people who like the game are perfectly fine. Its all about personal opinions, after all. "Fanboy" has become a term used to label those who argue the opinions of others, basically or who defend Bungie instead of letting the company speak for itself.

  • I see your point. Legendaries are great, but the fact is, like I was saying, if you think Of it like other games, it follows the, "old gear stays with old game. New gear for new game" they might take the fancy stuff with them, but I can see why they want players to try out the idea of putting on anything to make them more powerful, and not hoping or getting upset that bungie doesn't think they need to take all their stuff with them. I think instead, they should add grimoire cards for a full set of legendary armor, so we can prove we had it, but we don't have to flaunt it about, trying over and over with each expansion to ascend it.

  • But at the same time, do we really want Destiny to be like other games? Another big thing to keep in mind is like I said in my post, Bungie themselves have been very up front that the game is an FPS, not an MMO or even an RPG. They might try to emulate some aspects from these, but they are creating an FPS game first and foremost. Case in point, Project Blackout was going on for years and all of their weapons remained relevant the entire time. It all boiled down to personal preference. In a shooter game you wanna see a huge listing of weapons for you to choose from. This kinda goes hand in hand with a point I made a year ago, that it should always be about adding more to the current content, not replacing what is already there. The main thing I want to see is for weapons not to be defined by their Max Damage, cause that's how other games work. And in those games you're essentially just swinging a sword or whatever, the weapons don't really have all that much brain power needed for them. Guns in FPS games work differently, though. Every aspect about them gives a certain kind of character and play style. The other thing I'm not understanding is that you would think Raid Weapons/Armor, which are from Endgame content and just as difficult, if not more so, to acquire than Exotics, would also be able to ascend. I mean those are Raids, Vault of Glass and Crota's End. And now they are adding a new one, which is great. People want MORE of everything, which is what you would expect. But if the Legendary stuff that drops in the Vault and Crota's End are just as obsolete along with the rest of the Year 1 content, what is the point? New Players will do them maybe once or twice and then quickly stop caring, especially with there not being any matchmaking available for either raid. Just seems like they are shooting themselves in the foot with all this.

  • I guess. And raid gear is easy to acquire. Just play the raid. I've gotten plenty of raid armor, doesn't mean It's hard to get. It's all the RNG. Such as borderlands, sometimes awesome gear drops, sometimes it's just more cash.
