Very good. Bungie had no idea what they were doing when they created this game. Weapon power levels should have been dependent on character level with level requirements to use. Thorn in the hands of a level 20 would be much different than Thorn at 30. No legendary or exotic weapon should ever be obsolete because of damage output. Every such weapon should scale with the player. Perks and base stats should be what differentiate weapons. If Bungie wanted a grind, exotics should have had procedurally created stats and perks so that subsequent drops of the same weapon wouldn't seem wasteful. Everything about the rpg aspects of this game feel amateurish.

  • I completely agree with this, man. It makes no sense that players damage if tied to both their level [i]and[/i] that of their weapon. If they're going with a traditional leveling system from TTK-onward, maybe weapons will undergo the same revamp at some point? Given the scope and severity of the 2.0.0 weapons balance, it seems like they're setting the stage for that kind of reset, intentionally or not!

  • Amateurish? Or purposefully grindy to artificially inflate play time due to lack of content..? With bungies track record, I'm surprised people still believe they've been acting in "good faith" with every DLC/patch. To me, it seems like every decision they've made has a) increased the grind b) invalidated previous content or rendered it obsolete c) forced players into a play style that follows "their vision"... Still no matchmaking in said vision. Why else do that if not to force players to buy DLC? The real content in this game is so small, when you paywall nightfalls and weeklys, there really isn't much left... And don't get me started on PVP. What? Are they waiting for destiny 2 to "better understand what the players want" and finally put in objective modes (capture flag/bombs..)? BULLSHIT.

    Content vs Systems. I think the content delivered is kept at a minimum to promote dlc sales. But i think their choices for rpg mechanics are simply ridiculous. I would say some of their decisuons are unethical- cutting out daily activities for vanilla players- but those are few. Overall: completely disappointed in Bungie.

  • Like destiny was marketed? I dunno. But there are a couple of similar games. Defiance, Warframe, planetside, etc Borderlands is similar... Shooter rpg, loot based.

  • I feel like Borderlands is the closest comparison that exists, right now. If you added Raids and PvP to Borderlands, you'd get pretty close (minus the whole tone of the game, obviously, but you get the idea). XP

  • Oh yeah... If borderlands 2 put out a 4 man raid like VoG I would snap it up yesterday and today.

  • I 100% agree. There are just far too many damage modifiers in this game. Just for starters, there's level, light level, attack rating, and impact. Attack rating is silly. It makes no sense. Why does one weapon do more damage than another because it has an arbitrary higher attack rating? Light level shouldn't dictate the damage output of your weapons. That's really bizarre. It should dictate the damage output of your space magic. Removing both of these modifying elements would not only make weapons more intuitive and easier to balance, but also it would allow the weapon stats and perks system to breathe. It's weird to trash a perfectly good weapon just because of an attack rating differential, and it's weird that Bungie chose to debase such a potentially deep sandbox by putting this number on everything. It would be far more interesting if we could really customize our Guardian's tools by the options and benefits/drawbacks associated to them, not a singular number that makes the vast majority of the sandbox irrelevant.
