Who cares? He's a community manager, it isn't his job to play the game. Maybe you should look for a tester or something?

I disagree. I very much believe if he is to effectively manage the community, he needs to understand the game to effectively communicate our concerns to the developers.

Ok...but a community manager is a messenger, nothing more. You may disagree, but it is not in his job description to play the game.
