People are lemmings, same dps as Osiris pulse, Osiris on can have elemental damage making it a bit more useful in pve

I already have an adept messenger though. And elemental doesn't mean anything to me because I always use Vision, Fatebringer, and Word for the various burns. My Hopscotch is much better than the Messenger for Crucible.
-
It's better for PvP for the simple fact that it's rerollable. Also, according to Planet Destiny, it's hidden stats are better. Neither would be good for PvE even if The Messenger has the option of being elemental.
-
Meh... The hidden stats aren't much of a big deal. AA is overrated... Even more on a primary.
-
High impact and slow RoF are terrible for PvE, even with elemental dmg.
-
The messenger adept is the best pve pulse rifle. It is also better than any scout rifle and assault rifle. It is debatable if it better than fatebringer. It does have more boss DPS.
-
Best PvE pulse rifle? You must be high dude... High impact and slow RoF is terrible for PvE and Third eye and headseeker are lackluster for PvE. There are much better options around.
-
Like? High impact low rate of fire is the best archetype for pulse rifles in both bve and pvp. The timepiece or oversoul has nothing on messenger. And the timepiece was my first 365 weapon. I used that thing forever until I got my messenger then never touched it again.
-
No they are not. Dps is lower and their clip is smaller. OE has slightly faster reload, a bigger clip and full auto, therefore it dish out more dps. It's simple.
-
Full auto is irrelevant. Messenger > timepiece > oversoul. Messenger just hits far harder. It has more total damage per clip than either of the other two. One burse of messenger is worth about 3 bursts of the others.
-
Can someone tell this guy that he is wrong?
-
I could say the same to you. I have extensively used the timepiece (it was my favorite weapon) and know first hand it doesnt compare to the messenger.
-
This paragraph says it all: You’ll be reloading frequently, with no buff to how fast you can do this short of using Flared Magwell or Pulse Rifle Reload Gloves. Even with Flared Magwell, now you have not-so-great Stability, and the low Magazine Size of 24 to contend with. The slow RoF is a big enough penalty that even with your relatively hard Impact, you’ll do less DPS than the faster-firing alternatives that you could roll with more PvE-friendly perks. Really, the only way we’d recommend using The Messenger in generic PvE content is with a Solar or Void Adept specialization.
-
But at one clip with no reload the messenger does more damage. I would rather kill things without reloading at all. And when you are engaging bosses you will have to take cover constantly, being able to dish out more damage without reloading at all is better. Just reload at the same time your health is regening while hiding behind a rock.

http://planetdestiny.com/the-messenger-review/ Pretty much all what they said about The messenger for PvE is spot on dude...
-
Yes but hopscotch can have its perks rerolled to match any play style. One popular load out is outlaw and reactive reload. Deals 51 to the head after a reload!
-
Like you shoot and recharge just before an engagement? That's a good idea.
-
Not exactly. You have to get a kill before you reload to get the damage bonus.
-
That's a bit less appealing...
-
Yeah. It's not a run and gun style of weapon. It is a MONSTER at zone control and crowd control. Used in a defensive/passive play style it will tear through people.
-
Pretty sure nobody wants hopscotch for pve.
-
We have a winner. I'm not big pvp guy. Some banner and bit of trials
