Another well written post guardian. Well done. My thoughts are simple. Year one was a huge waste of time. All the work I (and others) put in was basically for nothing. All that endless grinding was useless. I understand Bungivision trying to help newer players catch up but I have met plenty newer players who got to level 34 without difficulty. Anyway this is what I have learned from playing year one and how I will play year two: Step 1 - Don't buy any DLCS during year two. Step 2 - Wait for Bungivision to announce the new year three super discounted prices and tell players year two weapons will be useless in year three. Step 3 - Watch history repeat itself with veteran players once again being upset about wasting their time. Step 4 - Laugh hysterically. Step 5 - Continue laughing Step 6 - Purchase year two DLCs at ridiculously lower prices. Step 7 - Play and compete all year two content in a few weeks. Step 8 - Wait for year four the following year. Step 9 - Repeat.

  • Their trying to reset Destiny COMPLETELY after year one. Seriously. Massive changes, a massive DLC (overpriced by activision, NOT Bungie), a massive patch, the complete edition for half price, Dinklebot getting replaced by Nolan North, a video game voice actor with AC, Uncharted, so probably has some good experience with this kind of thing. Year one players were game testers, year one itself was a test, which is apparently like all other mmos and other games (which I'm fine with), and I'm looking forward to the taken King. Call me stupid, a fanboy, blind, whatever, but my hopes are still high for Destiny.

  • 1: Destiny is not an MMO. 2: No, that is not common in the least for MMOs. 3: You can be excited about TTK all you want, that's fine. But it doesn't change how screwed over all the Year 1 players are. And if they do this now? There is literally nothing stopping them from doing it consistently every year. You'll spend each year doing nothing but grinding for gear, only to have it all reset afterwards at the start of the next year. Literally no actual progression, nothing to show for your hard work or time invested. 4: That was a crazy expensive Beta Test, dude. $100 for most? I think we're entitled to certain shit. They give Year 1 players literally no reason to stick around and keep playing/spending money on their products.

  • I'm happy you are happy but the majority are not. This was supposedly a ten year progression not a yearly reset. Just so you know where I'm coming from. I like destiny, I think TTK looks good, the pricing doesn't bother me(just got the $160 the division edition and TTK) but Bungivision basically telling us year one was for nothing upsets me. "Play the game, get the gear, become a legend." NOT!! "Play the game, get the gear, become a legend, then every gets nerfed all your work was for nothing, become mediocre."

  • While I do agree that the legendary weapons becoming obselete is a little weird, I don't think this will be a yearly reset. Destiny was a FPS, RPG, MMO all combined into one, which was pretty damn ambitious. And before anybody says it's not an MMO, it had the aspects of one. I guess maybe a half MMO (sounds pretty dumb doesn't it) I can't think of any game that's Destiny. So Bungie was destined to screw up, although some of those problems should really not of been there, like the campaign. Now their going to basically reset it to make become the game we wanted. I mean, they did rip off their year one players, even though I'm sure many still loved it. I think that year two will make Destiny the game we wanted. Although many people will rant about their precious weapons.

  • it has the aspects of a board game, doesn't make it a board game video poker is massive its multiplayer and its online doesn't make it a mmo FPS Co-Op
