Just going to mention, marijuana is one of the few drugs that when smoked around other people, can give a contact high, so they can experience it whether they assented or not. A narcotic that can get someone high just for walking into the smokers house is not okay. If you want to mess with your brain or lungs with cigarettes and alcohol, fine, but getting others addicted or even messing with their brain once without the addiction is a problem.

  • Takes longer, but I don't necessarily support them either. Tobacco without the additives is a bit safer than marijuana just because marijuana also swells the brain slightly, but I am not going to say either should be banned, because that leads to black market sales. I would rather people buy from regulated drugs than unregulated drugs.

Hundreds of thousands of people die every year from tobacco, it causes birth defects as well.... do some homework buddy.

  • I've seen the brain scan images. But I know that it acts as an anti inflammatory. What I am talking about is abuse over time with the brain swelling. Certain parts of the brain swell, and others grow dark. As for tobacco, what part of my argument made you think I supported it? And yes, it takes longer to feel the effects of a contact high from tobacco then from marijuana, because tobacco has a more subtle effect.

  • You have misunderstood something or seen studies that did not account for other variables i assure you.

  • As I said in another response, all drugs used over time are dangerous, even legal ones. It is because they change the way a certain part of your body works over time. Most of the debated ones are debated because they affect vital organs over time. Examples are tobacco with the lungs and brain, marijuana with the brain, heroin with various systems, and so forth. Since drugs are also generally addictive, they are also debated because they affect brain chemistry, if nothing else. The only problem with banning them is that some people would be willing to break the law to get them anyways, and some people genuinely need certain drugs medicinally. That is why I argue for regulation, not illegality.
