It has tons of characteristics, yes, but it's weapon/combat system is [i]not[/i] one of them.
So, for the sake of [i]my[/i] arguments, any MMO characteristics are completely irrelevant. :P

I am glad they are phasing out the weapons.....I was not looking forward to years of playing pretty much using exclusively my fatebringer. I do like the weapon and it will always be in my vault when weapon dmg values change but do you honestly want to play for years with the exact same weapons? Because a majority of the people would and then complain that there are no good (new) weapons to use. I am interested in how the new weapon designs will work and cant wait to play around with them. With the new lvling system it sounds like armor will be more about personal preference + perks of that armor which is good.

I literally cannot understand where you're coming from. You seem to think that Bungie needs to completely throw out old gear in order for you to move on from it, which is [i]nonsense[/i]! You say you don't want to keep using FB? [i]Then stop using it! End of story.[/i] Why do you need to force EVERYONE to stop using it just be a use [i]you[/i] don't want to!? I prefer In-n-Out over McDonald'd, but I don't need to get rid of McDonald's to enjoy myself; I just get In-n-Out!!

No the point is gamers will use the best gun available. And lets be honest Fatebringer is heads and shoulder above every other handcannon in the game. I would say it is even better than the exotics for the simple reason that it is equivalent to the exotics while being a legendary weapon. A majority of the gamers will automatically gravitate towards continuing to use this weapon if they can continue to upgrade it. So in the end you will the majority of the Destiny community eventually using only a select handful of weapons for the entire game and will ignore every other weapon in the game because despite that weapons ability is still is not a strong as the weapon they are using. If I could bring my weapons along then I would never bother using any other void sniper than my current one that has final round. Its the best...PVP or PVE there is no comparison for any other sniper rifle in the game or that will be in the game because final round no longer exists on sniper rifles. Most players already have the best legendaries this game offers and they will never move away from them if they can continue to upgrade their damage. Why? Because there is no reason to its the most powerful available and people will continue to work on VOG to get fatebringer so that they can use that weapon exclusively as well. By keeping the damage stopped at its current lvl gamers will naturally move on to find out what current weapons are the best for this damage value. This makes sense from both a developers POV as well as a gamers POV because lets be honest.........you can say that you will and maybe you would for a bit of fun but 99.9% of gamers will not move on to different weapons if they can keep their current ones.
