All I'm hearing is whining. It's a gun. In a game. Get over it FFS.

So, I am trying to remain philosophical about the whole thing. On the one hand, I'm okay with obsolescence of gear as we proceed into the game. It doesn't strike me as wildly unusual or bad. I look forward to trying out the new stuff, seeing how the new leveling system works, and all that jazz. I'm still excited for TTK. On the other hand, even if Destiny has MMO elements, one thing that strikes me about Destiny compared to the more "standard" MMO games I know is that in, say, WoW, you do not have nearly as intimate a connection with your weapon as you do in Destiny. You click on an enemy, your avatar swings the sword or shoots the bow or whatever, and you're like, "look at the little elf with the shooting and stuff." In Destiny, it's much more like you are using the weapon. So you get used to things like feel, recoil, reload time, ranges, all that. You get really familiar with your preferred weapon. You may grow to actually like it, in more than "this is effective in situations X, Y, and Z." You end up enjoying the act of using the weapon. That's where the "all MMOs do this" part breaks down -- sure they do, but all MMO's do not provide such a direct connection between you and the gear you use. And I haven't seen an acknowledgment of that factor from the Bungie developers, which is a little troubling. I will ride this train through year 2, but I certainly know why some people won't be.
All I'm hearing is whining.

Get over it FFS.
Irony.

I don't think you know what irony means. Telling the OP to stop whining is not ironic. Fail.

It must be hard to be so oblivious.
