Not really forcing, it's more so encouraging. Think of it kinda like spring cleaning your room because you finally grew out of those stupid posters you had in your room. Things naturally get tossed out, or replaced and in a mmo styled game like destiny where things are loot driven you can't always stick with your beloved Lord high fixer or whatever you have.
