The only reason this didn't bother me as much up to this point was because my old gear stayed useful, and became special because of its decreased availability; proof that I was here from the beginning. The idea of playing 'Destiny 3,' and still being able to pull out my Vanilla weapons in future battles is an awesome prospect. It would give weight to all the adventures I've been on, all the awesome feats I've accomplished, and continually validate and distinguish all my efforts to become legend, as they say.
This paragraph kind of won me over. Originally this is what Bungie was saying. Everything about our armor and weapons was supposed to become unique: the scope on our weapon was supposed to be the result of some decision during some quest. Our weapons and how unique we made them, how we forged them in battle, were supposed to be a huge part of the experience. This is something Bungie completely failed to deliver on.

I feel you, man. Being able to bring our favorite gear forward was one of the last remnants of what I hoped this game was going to be, based on all the promo material Bungie have us. I'm still crossing my fingers!

Become Legend, have your own story of where you got that gun - then throw it away!
