Whether you call it a MMO RPG Loot based FPS. They are all loot based. You will always be getting new weapons to replace old ones. Every add-on for Dragon Age, Borderlands, or SWToR has added new weapons that make the old ones obsolete. That is how loot based games work. Tl;dr Loot based games work this way.
They shouldn't let people jump to conclusions
I don't know if there is a way to prevent this.

  • You're wrong about Borderlands. All you had to do was find the same weapon at a higher level. The weapon didn't become obsolete, the level did. Also I love Dragons Age.

My point about Borderlands is you still have to go out and get a new gun because the old one is now obsolete, even though it used to be top tier at the old level cap.
The weapon didn't become obsolete, the level did.
You can say the same thing about whatever Year 1 gun you want. It becomes obsolete because you out level the guns capabilities. I loved Dragon Age as well.

I will never find my red hand ix at a higher level though. Whereas in borderlands I can get the exact same weapon but at a much higher level. The story in Dragon Age is incredible!
