Why would you want acension in TTK I didn't like it in HoW because it forced me to use the old very powerful weapons and the new weapons just aren't powerful enough to compete because we had these weapons especially fatebringer. I could be having more fun with a 365 Jewel of Osiris than a 300 fatebringer. Guns are supposed to be left behind for the new weapons to be used. My answer Bungie is doing the right thing.

That's the developer being lousy and uncreative. Has nothing to do with gear ascension. I could easily imagine weapons that would make you interested and want to use them. Its not hard, Bungie just obviously sucks now at making video games.

I could imagine all the weapons I could be using as well but I'm given the option to bring back the weapons that out class the new weapons. By the way Bungie aren't bad at making games now. They're going in the right direction.

That's exactly the problem. They keep making new weapons, but they are all junk compared to what we already have. What makes a weapon good is it's impact stat and it's perks. They obviously knew how to make good weapons when they made Vault of Glass. What happened since then? The reason everyone was so happy to ascend their old gear in House of Wolves was because the old gear was the only good gear. If they gave us new weapons that were better than the weapons we already have we would be glad to replace them. For instance, when I got my first Arc damage The Scholar (Adept) from the Lighthouse in Trials of Osiris I was happy as hell to replace my Fang of Ir Yut (partially because that weapon was so average).

Hahahahahahahahahahah I can't WAIT for the moment you get your ass handed to you with your old weapons and realise you have to do it all again. Not the fun levelling. Oh no.. I meant the raids. The disappointment. The matchmaking lack. The total grind and sadness of trying to get those weapons you wish for and will never have. You had them tho. And now they're useless.
