So are you leaving or not? If you think Bungie is stupid and Destiny is a sh*t game, than just stop playing it. Unlike you, i actually see Bungies side. Bungie wants to bring back old and new players. The noobs arent going to experience the game the same way we have, they arent going to do things that we have done. We have these memories and moments that the noobs will never get. I also see your side to, i can understand being attached to certain weapons and gear. Trust me, i dont want my The Devil You Know to be left behind, it was my first legendary handcannon and has been my baby since i got it. Bungie shouldn't be forcing us to move on, we should have a choice. Im excited to get my hands on the new weapons. They look awsome and might be better than what we have now. I can also think of alot other arguements for Bungies side. If you want them than just ask.

  • We won't have those memories. They will be dismantled for vault space.

  • Simply put, there's no reason NOT to allow continued gear ascension of all Year 1 stuff. There's no reason why Etheric Light still shouldn't be a thing. People weren't pitching a fit about House of Wolves having it, no one would bat an eye if TTK had it. People were still getting Dark Below and House of Wolves stuff even WITH Etheric Light being in the game, so that clearly does not dictate whether or not players embrace new content like Bungie was going on about. All this does? Is totally invalidate the past year spent on this game. People made friends? Sure, whatever, you could make friends anywhere doing anything that involved interacting with others. Its not as if Destiny is special in this regard. I've made plenty of friends playing multiplayer on Halo for crying out loud, ya know? So meeting new people doesn't serve as a viable reason either. Ultimately, the time you invested in the game this past year, without continued gear ascension, was a total waste of time and effort.

  • My main theory is that the new weapons and the old ones wouldnt be able to coexist. The weapons in TTK are based off of different play styles than the play styles we have now. Bungie clearly has a new vision for Destiny and where they want to take it, and they wouldnt be able to take the game there with the old weapons still around. And my point wasnt really that you made friends through the old content. And i could care less about playing and making friends with the noobs. My point was that we experienced the old content when it was the new content. Do you value the time you spent on the old content? If yes, than you do see the other side of the coin. If no, than your arguement is invalid since that means you dont value the old weapons. And to be clear, im on your side, i dont want the noobs to be where im at by doing nothing. But i see Bungies side and i see the logic behind it, which is why i am fine with their decision to do this.

  • I valued my time on the old content up until it became obvious that my time was rendered pointless. You literally had no reason to play the raids or strikes multiple times outside of hopefully getting those various Legendary/Exotic weapons and armor that you were looking to get. My point is that if everyone had already owned all of that stuff, then no one would have been playing Destiny because the game lacked actual content with a solid enough foundation for its PvE side. It didn't hold up on its own without making itself into a total grind to keep the player engaged in it. I don't see any reason why the old stuff couldn't go hand in hand with the new. They could very easily design a new tier for Prison of Elders where players need to go and complete it for a new challenge that enables them to convert existing weapons and armor to whatever new system is being used in TTK. It wouldn't be all that hard to do.

Well if they created a way to convert the weapons to a new format. Then the weapons really wouldn't be the same. And i doubt people are fighting to keep their weapons over asthetic reasons.

  • If one person can serve as an example? Look at my Warlock in my profile. Helmet; Eclipse Maw Primary: Red Hand IX (Original) Special: The Comedian Heavy: The Swarm Why do I use these? 1: The helmet stands out because it was a Pre-Dark Below Legendary Helmet from the Vanguard. Wearing it around the Reef, Tower, Raids or Strikes, people have stopped and asked me where I got it. And when I tell them, they are green with envy. I look unique, I look different in a way that others cannot be, because they no longer have access to my sexy-ness. THAT is a badge of pride which displays how long I have been playing this game, and anyone who sees it immediately knows. 2: My Red Hand is a beast, and a beauty to boot. Its nice and has that heavy feeling to it. It also matches my shader, the God of War which is my preferred color scheme. I am quite sentimental over this gun as it was something I spent many an hour grinding reputation for as back in the day the ONLY way to acquire it was through a random chance upon ranking up New Monarchy. The new version they sell in the faction vendor does not compare to mine, which has now become unique all its own. 3: The Shotgun is no joke, despite the name. It serves as my Non-Exotic VOID Damage Shotty and you can feel free to check its stats. The Impact, Mag Size and Rate of Fire is pure awesome. 4: My Machine Gun lacks the same stability as the BTR, however The Swarm manages to stay in my arsenal because it is a SOLAR Damage MG with high Impact and good perks. There are many players like me who think this way. I don't feverishly get and keep every single weapon I find, but I do have a sense of what I want. Ideal-wise, I want a Hand Cannon, Auto Rifle, Scout Rifle, Shotgun, Sniper Rifle, Rocket Launcher and Machine Gun of EVERY different elemental type (Solar, Arc and Void). If Bungie wants me to use the new gear? The answer isn't to render all my old shit useless by comparison. That kind of crap is just going to make say "screw this shit" and be done with it, like so many others already have. No, instead they need to present new weapons for those various types that offer me things that I don't have. Here is my arsenal... [b]NEEDED FOR ARMORY (Legendary Weapons) [Hand Cannons] Void: Word of Crota Arc: Fatebringer Solar: N/A [Auto Rifles] Void: Atheon's Epilogue Arc: N/A Solar: N/A [Scout Rifles] Void: N/A Arc: N/A Solar: Vision of Confluence [Shotguns] Void: The Comedian Arc: Dry Rot 32 Solar: Her Courtesy [Sniper Rifles] Void: Praedyth's Revenge Arc: Epitaph 2261 Solar: N/A [Rocket Launcher] Void: Steel Oracle Z-11 Arc: Unfriendly Giant Solar: Unfriendly Giant [Machine Gun] Void: Corrective Measure Arc: BTRD-345 Solar: The Swarm[/b] Anything else I get is just either for fun, personal reasons or for reliability. But the above is a list of my armory which takes priority and MUST be fully stocked at all times. There are a number of weapons in the armory that I would replace. For example, I really...REALLY want a high impact Void Machine Gun to replace Corrective Measure, which is not really my kind of play style. I don't really like the feel of it. Also, anything that was listed as N/A means I don't have them, so those are open slots ready to receive. I don't understand the argument at all that new weapons means getting rid of the old. New content can very easily integrate in with the old and vice versa.
