So Bungie just told us..
That the day The Taken King releases.
All that gear your grinded for for hours on end and worked hard to get is becoming useless.
All that ascending for nothing.

Devil You Know and Revelator have same base stats.
Red Hand IX and Lone.Rebel have same base stats.
Deadshot Luna SR1 and B-Line Trauma have same stats.
I'm so happy to dismantle my favourites for identical overall base stats DUPLICATES.
Everything will continue to be the same.
Yes "move on" to "better weapons".
All that changes are the name, colour and a slight adjustment to the models.. The attack value goes up.
Yet THE BASE STATS WILL DUPLICATE.[/b]
Edit: Yes this is my first MMO.
Yes I love the weapons I am currently using.
Yes I love playing Destiny, gameplay is incredible.
Yes I will complain when things piss me off.

Edit 3: If you're happy spending money for your weapons, that you worked hard for, to become obsolete then good for you.
I chase the weapons. You may chase armor, grimoire, experience or enjoy doing the same thing week in week out.
Insults don't affect me, in fact it shows how low your intellect is.
"They said wait" they shouldn't have to.
They shouldn't let people jump to conclusions.
They shouldn't let misinformation be released.
Edit 4: unlike the majority. I rarely use my fatebringer.
Final Edit: After reading many constructive replies and having checked in on Destiny today. I've decided I'm going to have to line up all my weapons and start cutting them out. Keeping all exotics and useful crucible weapons and those I consider to be useful.

Well, no one can blame anyone for getting pissed off about it. However, I'm happy that players that get pissed off about this leaving the game.

As this is your first mmo, it's understandable that you think this way. I love my current guns to pieces. I did in the vanilla armory as well, but I'll be dismantling my non raid weapons after ttk comes out because you have to adapt. In all honesty, the only raid weapons I'll keep are the vog ones. Once I get the crux, Crota stuff will be gone for the most part. You have to put the guns to rest. It would be extremely boring if we took something like a shadow price or a vanquisher through all the ten years they have planned for this game. That's why we won't be able to ascend. They want people to broaden their horizons.

Most games have a finite number of random items, you obtain most loot by doing very specific things. By players putting hundreds if not thousands of hours at the mercy of rng into getting curtain items you become attached to them. Nobody wants to full like they wasted their time trying for that gally or fatebringer.

Now, I have the next 30 or so days to really consider whether I want to buy TTK. I will treat it as a brand new game. I will not pre-order but wait until late September to decide.

Anyone who has destiny and the 2 expansions should get taken king for FREE. Fking considering they are offering the og game plus the 2 expansions AND the new expansion for 60 effing bucks. I paid FKING 60 PLUS more for the og game and first 2 expansions. Now I can get everything for just 60 real.

How dare they give us new equipment and not let us use the same old, tired shit forever! Nothing should ever change! Next thing you know, they'll "balance" weapons so people can't dominate matches without relying on skill. Just imagine the backlash from that. Shameful.
