So Bungie just told us..
That the day The Taken King releases.
All that gear your grinded for for hours on end and worked hard to get is becoming useless.
All that ascending for nothing.

[b]We're getting remodelled weapons with different names and colours.
Devil You Know and Revelator have same base stats.
Red Hand IX and Lone.Rebel have same base stats.
Deadshot Luna SR1 and B-Line Trauma have same stats.
I'm so happy to dismantle my favourites for identical overall base stats DUPLICATES.
Everything will continue to be the same.
Yes "move on" to "better weapons".
All that changes are the name, colour and a slight adjustment to the models.. The attack value goes up.
Yet THE BASE STATS WILL DUPLICATE.[/b]
Edit: Yes this is my first MMO.
Yes I love the weapons I am currently using.
Yes I love playing Destiny, gameplay is incredible.
Yes I will complain when things piss me off.

I really couldn't care less about the genre.
Edit 3: If you're happy spending money for your weapons, that you worked hard for, to become obsolete then good for you.
I chase the weapons. You may chase armor, grimoire, experience or enjoy doing the same thing week in week out.
Insults don't affect me, in fact it shows how low your intellect is.
"They said wait" they shouldn't have to.
They shouldn't let people jump to conclusions.
They shouldn't let misinformation be released.
Edit 4: unlike the majority. I rarely use my fatebringer.
Final Edit: After reading many constructive replies and having checked in on Destiny today. I've decided I'm going to have to line up all my weapons and start cutting them out. Keeping all exotics and useful crucible weapons and those I consider to be useful.

2 RepliesI'm just confused as to why the house of wolves even came out. Comes out in may to give us a badass pvp mode in trials and then poe was fun for a little while. So the ones that have grinded both to get some good looking gear and weapons goes into the trash?????? This makes no sense.

13 RepliesSo you're unhappy that in a new and larger expansion, there will be weapons that are much better than your current ones? Hmmm seems legit, I mean why make any new weapons or anything new for the game in general. Just leave the game as is and let people run around destroying ads so easily with vanilla gear.

Did you ever think that this works like every other game where higher level weapons do more damage? You seriously wanna play with the same weapons forever? I want all the new weapons to make the old ones look like trash. I'm not bummed that my old weapons are gonna be useless, isn't this a game that drives you toward better gear? That's why HoW tanked. All the new guns sucked compaired to the older ones. The best guns were random loot drops from crucible and Dragon strikes.

7 RepliesSo maybe Bungie should have made just one of each weapon subtype and make you level it up. That way you can just keep "shotgun" forever and never have to worry about another one ever again....

That's fine. You'll just have to stick with what you like. Everyone else will change around you though. Old weapons are old weapons. It's almost like starting a new shooter, or going prestige in the old CoD. The grind will always be there, whether that be in new armor, or new weapons. Just more to do. I look forward to finding successors to weapons I have. Need to let go my friend, it's not your fault. It's not your fault. It's not your fault. +1 if you get that reference.

Don't you think a move like this is really just a lack of ingenuity by Bungie. We have seen proof in their dlcs thus far as many have been unhappy with all different aspects of the content. Isn't it just easier to make all weapons absolute rather than put in some effort and make new ones that can compete with the existing ones. Another question. Why are they so bad at balancing this game. Auto rifles once reigned supreme. They nerfed em to the dirt while simultaneously buffing hand cannons. Doesn't that just shift the balance in the other direction? Would it be difficult to simply buff the weaker weapons? I don't know maybe I'm missing something.
