Not all of them, there are some dudes that are dicks and just happen to play a video game you play (not pointing any fingers, but ShesMyNerd likes to run a shitload of ads)
I just -blam!-ing hate the sellouts, anyone who says "Subscriptions are nice" are fine, but people who constantly run ads, and keep sub mode on all the time are the real assholes of the streaming community

Well some streamers need sub mode on all the time cause twitch wouldn't be able to handle every single viewer talking in the chats, but that's only streamers that consistently have thousands watching them, anyone else have no reason to keep sub mode on all the time

Edited by XManAlwaysWins: 8/3/2015 12:07:32 AMLet me give you a good example Cryaotic does a stream every Saturday from 11 PM - 7 AM EST He keeps above 10,000 viewers at all times, at the beginning of the stream from about 11 to 1 he keeps Sub mode on, but after that, he puts sub mode off, but slow mode set to 30 seconds, making the chat manageable, but not impossible to keep a conversation. Then at about 4 AM he puts sub mode off, and the slow timer to 10 seconds What I'm saying is that it's not impossible to keep a manageable chat, even with 10K+ viewers
-
Yes that's fine with a few viewers doing it at a time, I didn't dispute that fact, but imagine if every streamer whole gets more than 10k viewers all the time had it off sub mode, that's millions of people sending a lot of messages, twitch would break
-
That's why there is slow mode, if you have slow mode with 8000 people set to 1 minute, that's 8000 messages max. But not everybody chats, so lets be realistic and say that only about 50% chat regularly (even that's generous) also, SGDQ didn't have sub mode on or slow mode and they didn't break anything and they average 100,000+ audience members

I've seen twitch streams that have had slow mode on with sub only on and their streams crash, and yeah but if you think about it, if all the other streamers, even all the major streamers who average 20k+ viewers a stream, that's a lot of people all on twitch, talking at the same time don't you think?
