If you see Red bar.....
Do you report them for lagging? What if they use dial up and can't afford good internet?

We have over 1k replies. Wow so many dial up users and mega speed users with red bar regardless.
I feel honored to see multiple threads very similar to mine. Originality seems to be lagging as well now!

This is pretty simple. If you have a red bar don't play . . . you ruin the game for everybody. That being said Bungie should have a set-up where people with dial-up or low speed Wi-Fi can log in and play.

I report all red bars, even when Im winning. If anything goes wrong I blame it on the red bar

Idk some people's red bar seems to benefit them and they usually end up near the top of the score board. When i have a red bar (rarely) i end up with like 3 kills

If I see a red bar I just hope that I'm not in a gunfight. Nine times out of ten I end up trading with enemy.

5 RepliesWhen I was playing IB this last time around one of my teammates would call out everybody for lag switching, it was annoying. He is part of a pool of people who thinks that if someone is lagging they are cheating, I have never reported anyone for lagging. I think the whole phenomenon is caused by sweaties who can't deal with dying and need to deflect from the fact that they just aren't as good as they think they are and so they blame whatever they can instead of facing reality.

It still amazes me how many people lack a basic understanding of how Internet gaming works. It doesn't matter if you have a 100 mb/s connection or 2 mb/s connection if the game only needs 5 mb/s. I think people commonly confuse speed (bandwidth) for latency. Latency is the bane of all online gaming.

I report for bad connection if it's affecting the game.

1 ReplyEasy fix. Implement a speed test as you enter pvp and are placed with others your speed. Not trying to take anything from bad connections, but those of us that do pay for high speed connections shouldn't be penalized. All to often the players at the top of the leader boards are red barred.

How sad are you that you report someone for bad connection. Just shouting 'hey this guy can't afford £50 or so a month don't let him play.' Fair enough if his connection gives him an unfair advantage then it's likely he's cheating, but lag alone that's just sad.

1 ReplyOut of curiosity, are you people that report all red bars both expecting and welcoming reports on your account when you red bar out of respect for your fellow players? I fear some of you truly think you always have the best possible connection and have never once had a red bar. If it's mutual and understandable, then so be it.

2 RepliesIf I notice a red bar accompanied with noticeable lag I'll report for bad connection. If I notice a green bar that oh so perfectly drops to a red bar while the player suddenly lags in just the right time to be extremely adventageius for that play, I'll report for cheating.

Most of the time I don't report red bars unless their play is kinda suspension like taking advantage of their lag and not taking the effort to change lobbies after the match showing the attempt of getting a better connection.
