I see the upcoming raid and location of the Dreadnought as kinda weird for patrols and constant activity in The Taken King. If I were a giant winged bad-guy who entered a star system bent on revenge, I'd have not only my badass ship, but also a convoy of badass fighters/interceptors to escort me.
Enter the coolest multi-step raid idea.
Most of us remember the thrilling space-combat of Halo: Reach (RIP Noble Team). Because of this, I got excited at the thought of blasting our way through a blockade of ships, dodging and barrel-rolling through Hive boomer cannons, securing a safe way onto the dreadnought. And that's when the real fun starts. Now, you're stuck in a giant Hive warship that hasn't been seen from an outside entity for eons, and the host (Oryx) is pissed.
A mixture of Run'n'Gun and puzzles is met with new boss fight mechanics and a thought but movement focused final battle with Oryx. You kill the SOB, but you find out that you aren't through! Now, you have to race back to your Jumpships on sparrows, with members stopping at certain points to manually open gates with their ghosts, only to hope back on before a huge hive beast eats them.
The final part of the raid is the fireteam destroying as many hive tomb ships before leaping into warp before the dreadnought explodes.
