everyone says "Just counter it" but it's not like there's a warning,
you kill the Warlock, turn around to make sure you're not flanked, and bam Self Rez w a side of Buck Shot to the back.
Can't counter a Matador 64 in the back, dude.

A: There's a pretty obvious sound, along with a text prompt, and even an audio prompt if they res with the others dead. If you're missing the cues for a red, you're horribly in observant. B: The player is not immune during the start animation, meaning one shot from an Icebreaker, or an easy shotgun + shotgun or shotgun + melee combo will get you an easy victory. Not to mention a Fist of Havoc or a Nova Bomb.

I dunno dude I usually run like AR and the side arm, and even with the animation and 5 seconds to turn back around and aim my gun a Long Range shotgun is going to quickly wreck my hunter before I fire 10+ rounds

...the problem isn't the enemy, it's you/your setup...

I was pretty sure it would be a combination of the 2, u know, ShotgunSinger vs AutoSlinger
-
Well no, if you used a weapon that could stop sunsingers (ie: 80% of shotguns) instead of a sidearm, and you were observant about self res, instead of putting your back to them, then the ball would be in your court. Someone else is giving themselves the highest advantage they can, so you've got to get the advantage too, but playing carelessly and using low-tier weapons isn't going to help.

my bad that I haven't had the benefit of acquiring any of the reasonably ranged shotguns? and yeah it's probably my fault for having team mates that always die leaving me to kill the last 2 and somehow in the 2 seconds that I turn around to kill the bladedancer sneaking up a sun singer decided he'd self res for an Ace double team.

This isn't really a conversation about how bad your teammates are at elimination. I was just letting you know what you can best do to counter people that self res. Bladedancers are another story.
