Originally I had reactive reload and crowd control, with both perks active during combat you would do more damage than hard light while shooting twice as fast. I dropped those for counterbalance though. The gun has erratic recoil, but counterbalance eliminates the left and right recoil on any weapon making it just recoil directly up instead of side to side. Pair that with perfect balance and the red dot- OAS sight and you will have high stability with bonus aim assist so the hit box is bigger.
