If you really want to quit something, anything addictive, the best thing to do is distance yourself. If a game is taking over your life to the point where you feel you are consciously playing against your will, it's time to get rid of it. Sure, for a while everything else will feel less exciting, because you're coming off the addiction, but eventually you will appreciate other games again. If not, there's nothing wrong with getting outside, watching shows, or getting away from games in general for a while.
