Clan FAQ

Welcome to the clan page! In this post I will answer some questions that you probably have not asked, but subconsciously would like to know. It's like a clan FAQ, but not really. Who are we? At our core we are a group of friends in college who enjoy playing games with each other. Our school's network had strict NAT, and thus restricted us from playing with anyone outside of the network with voice communications. Over this past summer we finally began to raid, and through the use of various LFG sites we found some really awesome people that have the same kind of modus operandi as us. This clan, at its heart, is a friends and family clan, but it is open to everyone who has the same goals and mentality towards Destiny. What is our mentality towards Destiny? We like playing this game, obviously, but the one thing that can degrade an experience the quickest is annoying teammates. There is a difference between inexperience and immaturity; the first one can be overcame and taught out of, while the second just tends to tear groups apart. When I first began raiding the number of times the party disintegrated because of the immaturity of members was, quite frankly, annoying, so the maturity of members is of utmost importance. This has nothing to do with age, but habits. None of us are professionals, but we strive to have the patience to learn new skills and to teach the inexperienced. We're all in this game together. However, a whiny voice that never quits and always complains is worst than the Darkness, Why should I join? There is no one reason. We are not a professional clan, but we strive to improve. We operate mainly in the central time zone, UTC-6:00 (5:00 during daylight savings time), so keep that in mind. Play times vary, but we're on most days. If you want a solid group of people to play with, talk with, and work towards common goals with, consider joining. However, do not join if you are seeking a hardcore clan that will go flawless in Trials of Osiris multiple times per week or a clan that runs Skolas on every character every week. That's not us. We have lives outside of the game that limits our time, so people that are under the same restrictions are the kind fo people we're looking for. Do we raid? Yes, most weeks we raid with each other. Since the core group all knows each other personally the raids tend to be less serious and more about having a good time. However, you are always welcome if you aren't too concerned about quick progression. I hope I haven't made it seem like we don't value progression, because we very much do, we just take it at our own pace and are more than willing to help others with their own grind towards the top. We're not quite to the point of doing hard mode raiding with as much ease as others since we've only recently started, but we're getting there. Do we take part in the Crucible? Sometimes? We aren't PvP focused at the moment, but the opportunities for fun aren't simply limited to the PvE game. We will play in the Crucible every so often and I am more than willing to get more involved if a meaningful opportunity arises. We haven't started out Trials of Osiris play yet, as of writing this, but we plan to. We aren't the best, but we aren't the worse. We're learning. What do I need in order to join? You simply need a good work ethic and friendly attitude. We aim to be the kind of clan that people who have busy lives outside of the game would want to play with, so patience is vital. We tend to be bitterly sarcastic with each other, but that's because we tend to see each other pretty often and thus have several inside jokes in progress at any one time. How do I join? I, as the clan leader, have no application or strict process. Simply request to join and I'll probably send you a message asking about how you found us and your intentions. We're only on Xbox One at the moment, but there's no reason we can't branch out to other platforms if, for some strange reason, enough people asked to join. Preferably I want to play with everyone and befriend them, but logistical issues tend to get in the way. Ideally the best way for me to gage someone's cohesion with the group is to run a Nightfall strike with them, so plan on that being the "test," even though that's not quite the most accurate way to describe it. Thanks for reading the clan's (sorta) FAQ. I'll add more if the need ever arises, and if you've read this far I salute you. Have an awesome day and good hunting!
