Thorn Thorn is a tricky weapon, Two shots can kill you if you have low armor, but it takes three if you have good armor. It's an extreme edge case in PvP, where the result is vastly different based on a single stat. Per shot, you are losing either 20 or 25 damage over the life of the ticks (depending on their definition of 1/3rd). But, with the stacking you're actually losing less damage if you get two shots in, probably somewhere between 9 and 15. With three shots you are either dead, or two were not precision and you're losing even less damage over time. Heck bad shooters will probably gain damage. But the important part is that two shot and three shot area, especially when combined with the armor ranges people play with. I assume they adjusted the DoT by that tiny amount with those two issues in mind. Those slight numbers can actually swing life and death in the crucible because of how close they are to existing totals. There isn't a reason to touch DoT damage if you are going to nerf the range issue that's really the problem... unless you're trying to hit a sweet spot on the armor curve. Considering their long winded adjustments to pulse rifles that no one is paying attention to; I assume this was the goal. To hit a specific number for total damage over two and three shot ranges. Ice Breaker Wrong nerf. Just drop the total ammo to five. You won't get eight shots in before waiting for reloads, you would only get six. People who choose to IB camp can still do so. But overall it will feel a bit different, not quite as much power before you're sitting there... some people start switching to other snipers or decide to try something different. But it's not a drastic change, just a tweek. Black Hammer Just change the damage to void and make it an exotic. Problem solved and people get the void they are desperate for. Jelly I still can't decide what this means. The only nerf that you didn't provide a hard number for means... what? Is it s minor one and you're just publishing it to fix the media issue? Are you creating room for future weapons to grow? Why not mention that the outlier problem created content design issues galore? So... no matchmaking?
