Since it's release in September of last year, the video game Destiny, Bungie's newest venture, has been extremely popular with people of all ages. Is this coincidence, a smash hit, or something more sinister from the legendary game designers?
Skipping the boring part of the article and getting straight to the meat of it:
Perhaps Bungie's commercial success with the legendary Halo franchise has made them desperate to build up a larger and more dedicated fan base than newer rival 343 Industries, the part of the company that stayed with Microsoft, and the legendary franchise. This may have led to the questionable decisions by Bungie on gameplay and storyline that are affecting the unusually young audience (Brought in by the game's "Teen" rating from the ESRB) in a detrimental way, beyond the evils of a regular first person shooter.
The first way in which Destiny corrupts the youth of America is through the very idea of the main character, a member of an army blindly following a masked man called "The Speaker." Anyone who considers this at all sees the obvious real life parallel: Kim Jong Un and North Korea. This game teaches these young people to blindly follow a leader, possibly weakening their minds to North Korean propaganda.
A second risk caused by this game is an increase in suicide. In the game, a popular strategy is called "Wiping," where players agree to commit suicide (in game) to gain an advantage. This may desensitize children to the concept of suicide, as they respawn within a few seconds, actually better off than they were before. This teaches children that suicide is not only okay, but actually beneficial in some cases.
A final major issue is the introduction of a giant floating ball, called "The Traveller." Our expert researchers believe that this Traveller is designed to represent the Antichrist. It controls the Kim Jong Un-like Speaker, and leads them against an army of free people (Represented as inhuman monsters) in gory battles. It also grants them demonic powers, such as magical guns, knives, and other attacks. This evil magic should not be shown to the children of America, and should be treated as a serious threat to society.
What do you guys think? I personally think Fox News is insane!
Please keep it clean and friendly. Last time I showed you guys this, some people got a little out of hand.

Well it looks like somebody didn't get the legendary engram they desired tisk tisk smh
-
This is why I don't watch tv. I just play on them.
sad thing is, I've seen them put up dumber shit
-
Lol. Best laugh ever. The only people being controlled is the media. Sucks that they have to report the story and read from teleprompter. Probably has a son who is a marathon gamer and snapped.
-
Nobody cares what fox says and if you do then you are one of the literal retards

Even if this was real, no one takes fox news seriously.

Edited by Arron Rift: 9/12/2015 7:40:04 PMGuys, click the link, it is a Rick roll! Normally I would be fine with this, but Fox news gets a bad rap already and I don't want them getting framed for things they never said already. They're not perfect, but I support separation in news stations in general. Most of the others sound the same frankly. Besides, people would be outraged if they pined MSNBC like this. BTW, how did he spoof the link like that?
-
Nice try, but it is more than obvious that no professional writer wrote this. The grammar is short and choppy, lacking in flare and color and has several mistakes. News writers speak in bullshit that is easy to identify.
-
I'm enjoying how few people actually checked the source link
-
Great troll. You sir, gets a slow clap. Good -blam!-ing job

Edited by UnboundAng3l: 10/11/2015 6:41:33 AMYou dastardly troll you, good effort.
Read the tags before anything was not fooled this time ;)
Edit: Grammar fix.

Did I just get rickrolled in 2015? ..and kind of like it?
-
I still can't get over how many people think this is real
-
Touché

the game is definitely evil, but not for any reasons even close to what this article attributes it to. the game is evil because of the research and methodology put into making it incredibly addictive. you don't hear about it, but this game is taking advantage of a lot of emotional diseases in people and actually ruining their lives. if it wasn't destiny, it would just be something else, but destiny has targeted these people intentionally
-
*laughs at all of the indoctrinated leftists who blindly believed the OP without checking for verification*
-
U cheeky lil shit I clicked the link ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
-
Never gonna give you up
-
The sad part is, I assumed this was what Fox actually said in their article and it didn't sound too far fetched for something they'd say
-
Duh the speaker is obviously kim jong un he always wears a mask duh Obvious sarcasm is obvious
-
Fox news=halo fanboys
-
Demonic powers lmao I lost it there, that article was obviously written by a highly religious person who doesn't use their head
-
Fox News has become so used to telling lies they can't figure out that Destiny is a fake reality. I'm sure everyone at Fox News believes every video game is another dimension. The evil threat is all of us players who know how to enter these other dimensions and come back to Earth seemingly unchanged.
-
Article is written by Fox news, a biased news station, therefore a biased article and not a deamably good source of info.
-
Media has been saying this shit for years about shooter games, nothing new.
