As a canadian who's frequently in Michigan, its all about who you meet. Canada and the states citizens are very similar in terms of attitude, nature, and even life struggles. HOWEVER I feel like the stronger alcohol tolerences are farther south, and the u.s. is less harsh on drunk drivers.

Well drunk driving violations differ depending on the state. I live in NY and you get screwed over hard for DWIs. As for tolerances, I personally prefer dark beers and whiskey so maybe that's why I felt that way in my original response.
