Watching gameplay of Taken King crucible matches gave me an idea for a new game mode, what do you think? (POLL)

I like this idea.

I'm indifferent. I could take it or leave it. Meh.

No, I wouldn't enjoy this.

Preface to the idea (scroll down past the line if you don't want to know why I came up with this): I haven't had any fun in the crucible lately. I feel like I am funneled in to using the same 2-4 weapons or I will be continually punished for choosing to play with variety. I am perfectly capable of playing and doing acceptably well with other weapons, however, the performance difference is as contrasting as night and day. Then I remembered the beta for destiny; the crucible was SO much fun in the beta...but it was so imbalanced. So why did I enjoy it then, and resent it now? The answer: Everyone in the beta had green or blue weapons. There were no silly exotic perks. There were no crazy 10-frame kill times with primaries. There were no completely wacky shotguns with +range, +aim down sights, and final round at the same time. I was watching The Taken King crucible gameplay, and nobody had exotics equipped...and it looked like SO MUCH FUN. But why? There was actually variety in the game, there was a reason to switch to your sidearm, they had scout rifles at semi-close range and they actually stood a chance because the other guy couldn't just kill them in a quarter of a second. Don't get me wrong! There is a place for all of that, but there is currently NOT a balanced, variety-friendly PvP environment that exists within Destiny, so queue... ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Gamemode: Armory: What is it? First, it is a control variant. Second, at the beginning of the match, Destiny randomly picks ONE primary, ONE secondary, and ONE heavy weapon. It can be white, green, blue, or exotic...it is entirely random; but everyone uses the same random weapons with the same perks for the duration of the match. Example (I randomly picked weapons from the armory): Armory on Last Light Primary - Pickpocket Saint (blue scout rifle, has last round and crowd control) Secondary - Snakebite Surgeon (purple fusion rifle, has skip rounds / maximum ammunition / Hot Swap) Heavy - Cyrus B (white machine gun, no perks) You know what the enemy can do to you. You know what you can do to the enemy. Now go outplay them. Is it fair? Absolutely. Is it balanced? Absolutely. Is it varied and fresh gameplay every match? Absolutely. Is it fun? I certainly think it would be!... ...but I'm interested to know what you guys think, so vote! Put up your suggestions! Do you hate it? Why? Do you love it? Why? Start talkin fellas, I'm interested to read your replies!

 • I would go to a more extreme approach for a new game mode. Assault Assault would be played on one of three gigantic maps. Maps that are bigger than combined arms maps. In Assault, the enemy has claimed loot cache and you also claimed a loot cache. The opposing team must race and claim your cache and you must claim theirs. The only problem is that you have to get through the enemy base first. The enemy base is random with different obstacles and traps that block you from getting to the cache. If you do get past all those traps, you must start claiming the cache. It works like a control point, but you have to stay right by the cache, literally right up against it. When you start to claim the control point, you realize that it will take a while to actually capture the cache. If you do capture it however, your team wins the match and your team gets loot that ranges from rare gear to exotic gear (Exotic and Legendaries do not have an increased drop in this.) If you lost however, your team will get uncommon to rare items, but not everyone on the losing team can get a reward, just like normal crucible. A twist to this game mode is that before the game starts, a special type and primary type of weapon are banned to be used in the assault. For example, fusion rifles could be restricted from being used during that game. Pulse rifles are also restricted that game. Now you may be thinking, what if the game goes on for such a long time? Well it can't, because there is a half hour timer until there is a draw, and people get normal crucible loot drops. Another thing, there are no supers, and a twist, if you die, you don't get any additional ammo, if you run out, you better hope that there is a special ammo box around, because every three minutes they spawn, but they give you a limited amount of ammo. So, what do you guys think of OP's game mode and my game mode in Destiny, would you think it would work?
