How "Leaders" of Destiny Silence Opposition.

In case this is too long and you don't like to read: A user's online ID was banned b/c a prominent Destiny player/streamer seemingly felt threatened, and he used his force as a popular streamer to have his fans spam the report function to have them completely banned from their platform of choice. . . A gamer friend of mine by the name of M************ recently caused quite a storm on the Destiny/Bungie forums. His post was in reference to the recent announcement of professional Destiny tournaments, and what would potentially be restricted from them (i.e. game elements including character abilities that were considered unfair or "annoying" to some). M**** disagreed with these restrictions and referenced TripleWreck as having a say or at least some amount of input in the decisions regarding these tournament rules and restrictions, also citing online sources and interviews of TripleWreck wanting certain aspects of the game restricted from these tournaments. One of the reasons being that he felt certain aspects were "annoying", etc. Regardless of your point of view on this matter, hell even if u don't care one bit, one's personal opinion should NEVER result in DoS-type attacks where a user's online ID is spammed with reports of inappropriateness, offensive gamer tag, etc. just bc someone dislikes another's point of view. This is such a petty, grade-school tactic where the most popular person gets the most support from followers/drones and hence destroys opposition, and this seems to be standard practice. Is this how Destiny should be represented? U have popular streamers - which I don't know how in the hell these no-lifers can feel proud to play a game all day and have lil children tune in, essentially worship them?, and support every word they say with lock-step devotion - that will advocate spamming one's account with which they disagree or dislike just to get that person banned from the network, not just from Destiny, but the entire online experience for whichever platform they've chosen to play! This is because no matter how appropriate one's online ID is or isn't, as long as enough people report your name using the proper channels, it is guaranteed that u will be banned. THIS is the peer pressure that is seemingly advocated throughout the Destiny experience, since Destiny supports players/streamers like these. Don't ever say or write anything Bungie dislikes, or your posts will be removed and you'll potentially be banned. Don't ever say or write anything that prominent streamers and Destiny players dislike, or your entire online gaming existence will be erased. Seriously? That is what happened to M************. . . "Molested" is a banned word? We've all heard worse. GTFO of here Edit:I have "starred" this user's name as a precaution to more backlash like this

  • It's interesting. Watching another streamer the other day, that guy came in and even donated to the guy. In his donation he brought up his issues with Triple and the donation was immediately refunded and i think he was banned. When he brought it up chat made it sound like the guy attacked triple on the forums and in his stream so that is why he was banned. I wasn't there though so I have no idea what happened but chat was making it sound like the guy attacked the streamer. Either way, that doesn't justify wrecking that guys gaming experience, that's garbage.
