Edited by Tersidre: 7/14/2015 11:54:28 AMThe problem here is there is absolutely no reason to try to get better at destiny. You can be a complete bumbling moron in the crucible and your rate of reward is going to be just about identical to someone who is going 21-0 10 games in a row. The trials are no better, it really doesn't take alot to go 9-0 in that thing. If this game rewarded high level play (pvp wise) people would actually try to get better. but I get what you are saying. I do okay in the crucible. I do okay in the trials. I get the same rewards as the people who are top performers. No incentive to put in the extra time or effort because it doesn't require it. Also.. just having the current metagame pvp weapons vastly tips the odds in your favor. A good shotgun and the last word and suddenly you will take an average player getting average scores and they will begin to top the charts every game until they run into someone else who has the same setup. Destiny will NEVER be a truly competitive PvP game. Not unless the base mechanics of how gear works in the PvP is altered. There are too many variables that tip the balance of power one way or another. Thats fine. There are enough competitive PvP games out there I can throw myself at if I want to really try to improve, destiny overall is a much more relaxed environment and thats one of the reasons I enjoy it.
