1) Not immediately, no.
2) Yes.
3) Two reasons. This was back when Bungie intent was for humans and Forerunners to be the same. Second, is that humanity was chosen to reclaim the Forerunner legacy, essentially making them Forerunners.
4) Lots of crushing and crunching mostly.
