Whether you believe it is a religion or not is your choice, no use in us arguing.
Religion does not inherently involve a god or gods. Often it does, but not always. In every source I listed there is a definition of religion that Buddhism falls under. Buddhism is more than a code of ethical conduct, it's a view on the supernatural structure of the universe.
