There are some branches of Jainism that promote not veganism exactly I forget what it's called. Basically they only eat fruit and nuts that have already fallen off trees/bushes etc. I think they may eat meat if it has been killed by something else and left I don't remember. Anyway the reason they do that is because they believe that even picking fruit and things is a form of violence towards the plant which they don't like.
