Looking to upgrade my console, tell me what I should get and why

Get a PS4

2769

Get a Xbox One

3310

################################# Hey everyone, I really appreciate all of the feedback! It was great to hear a lot of real opinions, suggestions, and information about both systems. It was a lot of reading last night / this morning to catch up on everything, but I feel WAY more informed than before. I made this post to get some information to help me make a good decision on a new console and I think with all of your help it did. Didn't make this to troll/start a huge debate on here, but I guess it comes with the territory on a forum where people are passionate about their gaming systems. I made a random decision yesterday and pre-ordered the TTK PS4. I have enough store credit from previous trade ins at GameStop to make it affordable. Also will be trading in my 360 for an additional $100 off. So it looks like I will be starting from scratch, but I have enough friends on the PS+ network to make it fun. Again, I really appreciate all of the feedback/suggestions/opinions from you guys. It was a great read and I think I learned all I needed to make the right decision for myself. Also, thanks for all of the congratulations on me becoming a dad. Although I am still about 6 months out from having that new little one in my arms, I couldn't be more excited about it. Thanks again, guardians. ################################# I've had a Xbox 360 for a few years now and most of my friends either have a Xbox One or a PS4 (it's about a 50/50 split). I recently found out that I am going to be a dad (due late January 2016) and because of this and all of the future late nights that come with that in my future, I got permission from the wife to upgrade, so help me figure out what to get. Since I am already a Microsoft user, obviously going with the Xbox One seems like the easiest one to upgrade to, but I'm open to suggestions. For the Xbox, I am already familiar with the Xbox Live stuff and I'm already paying the yearly online fee, no need to cancel service etc. If I upgrade to the Xbox One, do I need to start over with new characters or would my character carry over? Is the Xbox One backwards compatible with my current 360 games (Destiny, Halo Series, GTA5) or do I have to buy new games no matter what? Any other benefits to sticking with Microsoft? As for the PS4, I don't have too much knowledge about this system. I've heard it's got better graphics, but I've also heard the online servers are unreliable leaving you unable to play often? Is it worth it? What other reasons make it worth switching?

if you have a 360 than backwards compatibility is a non issue if you have a decent PC 99% of all xbox titles will be on it and you can run them in 1080p or higher if you wanna run games at 720p buy a PS3 instead of an xbox1 the only real choice is a PS4 for the exclusives , all games except those held back by Xbox1 ( Battlefield /cough cough ) run at 1080p and xbox1 is still running games at 720 xbox1 sold for $499 dollars and now you can pick up the Halo Master Chief bundle for $330 ,,,, for only $100 dollars less you can pick up a Ps3 last of us bundle for $230 : ) ( How the people who spent nearly $600 on the Xbox1 at release because they were told its imposible to remove Kinect do not feel utterly ripped off is astonishing ,,,, there was even a sale where you could pick up xbox1With kinect for $199 if you traded in a PS3,,, and the 360 at the time was selling for $179 ,,, to much lol for one post ) Xbox1's true competition is the PS3 , they both do 720p and they both collect dust on the store shelves seriously though :) ,, if you want a Nex Gen Gaming Console why would you buy anything but a PS4 ? it out performs Xbox1 and it has exclusives you cant get on PC ,,,, Xbox1 all games except for maybe 5 in its entire lifespan will be on PC and the only reason they wont be on PC is becuase you would have Zero reason to buy an Xbox if they were ..<---- its like throwing money at the screen for Microsoft to pay them multiple times for the same product , if you have a PC and a 360 why do you need an Xbox1 ? Buy a PS4 for the exclusives that will be nowhere else ,, upgrade your PC or buy an Upgrade-able one and buy an Xbox1 controller for it ,,, you have a 360 = backwards compatible already solved so save the money :) ,,,, <---- you are 100% set for gaming for the next 5 years
