Even though I'm on ps4 and will probably never change to an Xbox it sounds like the Xone is the best choice for you.
Talking about destiny you won't need to start over.
Some content will release together with TTK which was exclusive to Ps (worst decision in the first place)
Xone is a great console. Maybe your wife will enjoy all the multi media possibilities too.
