It's a good idea, but you should only be able to buy weapons and armour that you previously owned.

That's kinda dumb since I barely got anything in those days. I'd be lucky to get an engram

I don't think so. Those weapons should rightfully be reserved for those players who we're playing the game when they were being sold by the vendors, and decided to buy them.
