Req packs are the micro transactions and they Can be earned with in game currency or purchased. They provide buffs to weapons and armor in war zone as well as cosmetic armor pieces. These buffs are only available in war zone and as the arena multiplayer halo is known is based on an even playing field. You can still have custom armor however.
