So the people who insult Bungie, call them incompetent, money whores, sellouts, more commonly known as Bungievision, who can't make a good game with a $500 million budget, which Bungie says is untrue, by the way. The franchise budget is probably $500 million. The first game is nowhere close to that. The ones that say that they're done with Destiny, that no one's going to play it when Fallout 4 comes out, that Destiny is dying, that the DLCs are overpriced, that it was a failure, say that because they're a fan? ...That's not a very successful way of showing it. Firstly, Bungie doesn't control everything. Halo was an Xbox exclusive franchise because Microsoft took a bet that Halo CE would get the Xbox platform off the ground. That's business. Bungie needed money, Microsoft supplied it for exclusivity. Same thing happened here. Why you feel betrayed by this is irrelevant. Exclusivity exists. Either say that there should be no exclusivity AT ALL, or deal with it. It wasn't not Bungie's decision to go "against" their beloved Xbox crowd. It wasn't Bungie's decision to cut the game in half and sell the rest in chunks.

  • We're fans of Bungie, cause they created the Halo series. Compared to their past work, Destiny is an utter failure. And we did show it when we paid $100 Day 1. When we pre-ordered the game. When we stayed up for the Midnight Release. When we stuck with it despite all its drawbacks. We have indeed showed our support for Bungie. And in the end, we consistently get screwed over, each and every time. No excuse for it.

If you thought this game was a failure, you wouldn't have played for as long as you did. Either you have a very poor taste in games, or this game wasn't a failure, and you played it because it's fun. Failed games don't get the highest view count for a game reveal on Twitch. Failed games don't get to come back to E3 to reveal their latest expansion. Failed games don't raise over $1,000,000 for Direct Relief in Nepal. While you and your "Spartans" mourn over your fallen developer, the "Guardians" are going to keep playing Prison of Elders, Trials of Osiris, and come September, we're going to play The Taken King, and we're going to have fun with it. Maybe you'll come back to it, you're more than welcome to. I won't put the game on a pedestal and say that it's the gold standard for games. Far from it, the way Activision is forcing Bungie to sell this game in chunks is astoundingly anti-consumer, and I know it's not Bungie who decided to do this. But I play Destiny because it's fun, and that's reason enough. Can't argue with fun, and no reviewer is going to make that decision for me, especially one that can't use his inside voice.

You can see on my profile how long I played for. That is all from the first few months following the game's launch. It took me 4-5 hours, taking my time, to beat the entire story. The rest of the time I spent in the game was consistent grinding. My goal? To get the guns I wanted, because I had an objective and plan. I loved the game, at first. I defended the game, at first. If you look back at some of my earlier posts on this forum, before the DLCs came out, I was one of the biggest supporters for it. But then the Dark Below came out, the DLC I was looking forward to. And it was a total letdown. I played for all of two days, and then stopped altogether. At the time, it amounted to being at around 250 hours total in the game. At which point, I began playing Dragon Age: Inquisition and easily spent 300+ hours on there, first playthrough. House of Wolves came out, and I came back, all due to the introduction of Etheric Light. But with there being no confirmation on whether or not you can continue ascending your weapons and armor in TTK, I have zero reason to spend anymore time playing unless I know for sure one way or another. If no? I'm done. Simple as that. And there are MANY who feel the exact same way. The vast majority of what Destiny has for its player base is owed greatly to its former community. The Spartans set the foundation for this community, and this game. If this continues? When Halo 5 gets released, those who have Xbox Ones are gone. I've done the checks, I've spent the time going around asking people. Destiny has two major communities backing it for activity. The Halo Community and the COD Community. Halo 5 comes out, Spartans are gone. All you got left are the COD folks then. But then the next COD comes out or The Division (which is going to rip Destiny apart...holy crap... In case no one else saw that shit at E3, lol), the COD guys are gonna be moving on and getting sucked into other things. Fact is, Bungie needs to do something drastic. A LOT is riding on the TTK. Its not looking good, especially with the hype having worn off for many.
