Neither of them would have any reason to know about these things, let alone actually understand them (let's face it, neither of them are very intelligent). You've put forward a biased situation, so of course no one can refute you, it's not fair to begin with. Then there's the Darkness itself, which no one fully understands yet. You're pitting them up against an enemy even you know nothing about and are just assuming they would win because...reasons.
