You're more articulate than a good chunk of my age demographic (25-35). I'd be interested to see where you end up in 20 years time.
That being said: I certainly don't discriminate against age. It's more about attitude But I will agree that a good chunk of younger players mannerisms do need adjustment. Nothing is more annoying to me than trying to do hardmode content to hear a young person holding sidebar conversations and ignoring the rest of the group's desire for progression.
I don't believe that issue of consideration is reserved to only kids. Older people will have the same lack of consideration, it's just heightened when the younger audience does it because the context of their discussions aren't something we encounter in our daily lives as adults (it's much harder for us to relate).
I 100% agree that the game itself is structured in a way that is entirely kid friendly. To believe that this game would be harmful to a younger audience is completely naive. I recall when I was your age, and I had been exposed to far harsher things. If anything, there's very few things that kids SHOULDN'T be exposed to, so that they're experienced enough to rationalize difficult situations (and act appropriately) when they're older.
