Although this is an old, already discussed problem, I believe that we can still change. I feel that the majority of players that play Destiny are under the appropriate age for shooters. I think this age should be 18 and over. I'll give you a few reasons.
1)It causes traumatic situations. I for one do not want my child flinching and screaming away every time they see somebody holding a sword.
2) It causes anti-social instincts to grow. When you think about it, the average session a child will play in Destiny is three to four hours. That's three to four hours where the only communication the are getting is with people they have met over the Internet. I don't want children growing older and being scared of every person they see.
3) It teaches them bad words. Every lobby I go into, there is always that person (usually a child) screaming curse words for no good reason. Where did they find out these words? From older players. If there was a minimum age, you would not have this problem. Children are getting angrier because of this game.
4) My final reason is that it causes violence. No 10 year old should be able to make another creatures head explode, or shoot other players virtually. What happens when that transfers to the real world? That anger and frustration would lead to much property being desecrated including
Mailbox Baseball
Laser Tag
TPing Houses
Egging Cars
Multiple holes in the wall from being punched.
ANY PERSON who do not follow these rules should be arrested with a minimum 2 year sentence.
Thank you all for the support you give me. I believe that a change to only 18 year olds and over would make the worlds youth safer and more intelligent than currently.
1)It causes traumatic situations. I for one do not want my child flinching and screaming away every time they see somebody holding a sword.
what? Your child would flinch over a fictional character holding a sword? Let's consider he age a child would have to be to pay attention to the game and therefor have understanding that it's a game. If a knight in a game frightens them, then they properly are just typical whimpy children. I know plenty of parents who's children see them play destiny and who also play destiny. Playing a game for "three two for hours" a day (seriously check what you write) will not make them scared of people unless you the parent never limit their gameplay and introduce them to the world. Children can play games and be social, just like adults. It is the parents responsibility to ensure the child is well developed in all aspects of life. I've played online games since there were games to play. And no part of my life is anti social. Your logic is flawed.
3) It teaches them bad words. People do say naughty naughty words in real life too! And teaching a child if they do know naughty words when it's appropriate and when it's not is more sensible then stopping them from playing a game like destiny. Children are not angry because of a game, children get angry because of heir own personal family issues.
4) My final reason is that it causes violence. Let's just remove violence from the news, films, and TV shows whilst we are at it. You really are a moron if you think all it takes is a game to make children violent and not the mental issues that they were already born with. Laser tag?.... Wow You should be sentenced.. To not having children if you don't know how to raise them. Don't blame a game on your bad parenting. Yes let's change destiny to 18 and over! Then all crime in the world will end!
