Although this is an old, already discussed problem, I believe that we can still change. I feel that the majority of players that play Destiny are under the appropriate age for shooters. I think this age should be 18 and over. I'll give you a few reasons.
1)It causes traumatic situations. I for one do not want my child flinching and screaming away every time they see somebody holding a sword.
2) It causes anti-social instincts to grow. When you think about it, the average session a child will play in Destiny is three to four hours. That's three to four hours where the only communication the are getting is with people they have met over the Internet. I don't want children growing older and being scared of every person they see.
3) It teaches them bad words. Every lobby I go into, there is always that person (usually a child) screaming curse words for no good reason. Where did they find out these words? From older players. If there was a minimum age, you would not have this problem. Children are getting angrier because of this game.
4) My final reason is that it causes violence. No 10 year old should be able to make another creatures head explode, or shoot other players virtually. What happens when that transfers to the real world? That anger and frustration would lead to much property being desecrated including
Mailbox Baseball
Laser Tag
TPing Houses
Egging Cars
Multiple holes in the wall from being punched.
ANY PERSON who do not follow these rules should be arrested with a minimum 2 year sentence.
Thank you all for the support you give me. I believe that a change to only 18 year olds and over would make the worlds youth safer and more intelligent than currently.

So, as a 16 year old, I can drive a car and put my life on the line every time I step into it but I cannot play this video game that had no blood, gore, sex, or anything like that? I hear people curse on the daily. My friends do it, I do it, and my parents do it. This game being 18+ would be stupid.

Hahahahaha
-
Laser tag? Really?
-
Minimum age won't do a damn bit of difference. Look at all the little kids on COD going on about how they -blam!-ed some bodies mom

The thing is, your post is focusing on real world issues. The game ESRB rating doesn't take into account those types of things. It is only rating the content of the game. There is no mature content in the game, so they rated it T. They don't take into account what words and such people will be learning from other players because the game is not influencing children with these words. The players are. But I completely understand where you're coming from.

I'm 17, but I've played shooters quite frequently when I was younger, and games such as the elder scrolls. I have no fear of swords, I have no problem talking to people and making social connections, and I don't curse.

TV is by far a much more influential subject on a child's lifestyle. In fact games, logistically speaking, subconsciously use our brains to solve problems in game. Also making it illegal is too far. It's not the child's fault. It's the parents fault for buying the game on the first place.
-
You sound like either a person that hates children, or an over protective parent.
-
Oops turn 18 in 3 months. No parents go by those ratings these days anyways.
-
So you want a bunch of 13 year olds arrested for playing a TEEN rated game?
-
How about These forums? Any kid can have access to these forums and probably be exposed to worse than the actual game. Either way it's up to the parents to be involved with the kids life and know exactly what the kid is doing.

Signed this is a great idea!

If your above 18 you shouldn't even be wasting your time on a video. Your an adult with responsibilities and shouldn't be playing childish games
-
I've spotted the liberal...
-
It's rated T for teen because of cartoon violence If you think destiny is traumatic I think you need to see a doctor
-
I'm 15 but honestly 14 and under should be fine teens these days know to much.
-
Ok kid, you are no longer allowed to play games. Now go away, because you are a kid, an you Gould not play Destiny or any game for that matter. You must be 18 to play a game for 13 war olds, sorry, you must leave now, goodbye forever. You won't be missed.

People these days, it's so great. They don't ever expect an intelligent student to play games. It's beautiful. This world can't even see its own problems. Ever look at the education system itself? Are you sure that isn't failing with corporate businesses stepping in and orchestrating tests? Or maybe the government? We aren't treated as people anymore just numbers.

I mostly agree with you, although putting a letter on the corner of a case isn't going to phase most parents. For example, I knew some kindergarteners that played some of the older Grand Theft Auto games, so clearly the parents were not noticing the "M 17+ for use of Drugs and Alchohol, Language, Partial Nudity" etc...
