I've had worse experiences with matchmaking than I've ever had looking for people myself. Enough that I don't want i for raids or higher level end game content. Keep it how it is.

you simply opt out of optional matchmaking and it has no effect on you, not spoiling your game experience and allowing you to continue using the method you see fit
