Past gen console users are not the reason why you can't have nice things. Bungie's decision to support PS3/Xbox 360 is the reason why. The users do not make the decision on which platform(s) a game is released for.
I think it was only supposed to be released on previous-gen consoles anyway. Then the new consoles were released, so they developed PS4/XB1 builds.

You really think they didn't know that new consoles were coming? They were just casually making a game for 360 and ps3 when they heard about ps4 and xbox 1 and said oh those consoles sound like they're good we should make the game for them too. They knew when ps4 was going to release back when they started developing the game, Sony and Microsoft probably event sent them specs years before it released.

This. Other than the head honcho and art team Bungie has gone to shit rather quickly. They're the new Rare. Just go ahead and abandon all hope.
