I only cared about Halo's lore that was CE - H3....maybe Reach I think Chief floating in space was the perfect ending, he came out of the cryotube in CE, went back into it one last time in H3, it was the most emotional, and inspirational ending in any video game I could think of. I still love the series (if they ever get it out of the mud) but I play for the wows of the engine and the gameplay, the multiplayer also

Could always leave a bit of mystery, and that's what a good story always leaves behind, a sense of mystery

  • Except Bungie said they'd finish all the plot points. Also, blatantly ignoring plot points =/= mystery. That'd make Destiny the most mysterious shooter on the planet.

Nope, I like it unfinished, and that was rude with this section of your reply
Also, blatantly ignoring plot points =/= mystery.
So now you're me? It's my opinion, so I don't give a rat's ass

  • Wait, wait, wait. How am I rude for contesting your opinion? That's a cheap ass move right there. This is a Q&A. I'm going to generally respond if you make a post. So I respond and offer my two cents (with justification mind you) and now you tell me I'm rude? If you can't handle your opinions getting criticized, then don't put them on display.

  • More like, I'll defend my opinions with all my will, and don't care if it is criticized, if I agree, I'll take the conversation a long, with you're criticism I'll just crumple it up and throw it in the trash

  • Alright, see ya. At least both of us agree that Halo is a good game, right?
maybe
• Actually, many of the Halo games have questionable game design involved in them, and considering that they're dumbed down and casualized versions PC Arena Shooters, I'd say they're pretty mediocre. Doesn't change the fact I love them.

  • I'm going to stop being an ass, or try at least. I was just saying I don't really care for the story anymore and just love to play the games

  • Hopefully Halo 5 starts to move things in the right direction. The almost nonexistent aim assist and competitive nature of the Arena multiplayer component are good signs, as well as having both a skill ranking system and a standard progression system.

Can you tell me what those 13 unfinished plot points were?

  • Created by Roberto, and expanded upon by Chronarch.
1) 6 of the 7 Halo rings are still primed and ready to fire - a shadow that will forever loom over the Halo universe as long as it's unresolved. Frankie states in the Halo A-Z video that "we never diffuse that fuse". This is picked up on in Halo 4, as the primary mission of the Infinity before the Requiem campaign was to find the other Halos and study them for decommission. 2) The Gravemind tells us that defeat at Installation 04B at the end of Halo 3 only delays his return. This is picked up in the narrative of the Forerunner Saga, as we know from the end of Primordium that the Precursors (in the form of the Flood) are returning. 3) Mendicant Bias virtually screams to the player that the Chief's story is not done, informing us that: 4) The Forerunners are not dead... 5) ...and that the path to the Forerunners is "fraught with peril", suggesting a new threat to confront. 6) No explanation whatsoever was given to these mysterious new beings referenced by the Didact called the Precursors. This obviously formed the basis of Greg Bear's Forerunner Saga, and which we now know is feeding directly into the Reclaimer Saga. 7) Nor was any explanation given as to what "following in Their footsteps" means in Halo 3's Terminals when the Didact started talking about the Great Journey he and the other surviving Forerunners will go on after he fires the Halos. 8) Therefore, the Great Journey does exist, but has been misinterpreted by the Prophets. What is the Journey, and what is the significance it has? 9) Mankind has yet to uphold their destiny as the guardians of the universe (as mankind's destiny is the entire thematic point of the series, not continuing the story would mean voiding the relevance of the franchise as a story). This forms the thematic basis for the Reclaimer Trilogy, as the name itself implies. 10) We do not know if humanity can survive the inevitable tensions between the Covenant client races, the Elites, and themselves. 11) We did not know (at the time, until Cryptum) what made humanity so special and worth saving in the eyes of Librarian. She said that we held the answer to many secrets, something which Halo 3's main narrative NEVER addresses but constantly slaps us in the face with because it shows us that humans are Reclaimers. 12) Cortana, who holds the largest wealth of Forerunner knowledge in the universe aside from the Forerunners themselves, is slowly drifting into insanity. How can anyone claim that Halo 3 provided any kind of satisfying closure when we spend the whole game building up to her rescue only for her to be discarded and left to rot into insanity half an hour later? 13) And finally, Master Chief, the selected messenger of Medicant Bias, is drifting near an unknown Forerunner world at the very end of the game. • I'm only in it for the Lore now I find that 3's ending on Heroic down was emotion al and perfect, but on Legendary it was hinted that Chief would find Requiem as its shadow loomed in the distance.

  •
it was hinted
If by "hinted", you mean outright confirmed since the final Terminal had Mendicant Bias tell John that he's sending him to the Forerunners and that's followed up with the final scene depicting John's half of the Dawn approaching that world, then yeah. "Hinted".
