So Roman crucifixions are ok? And let's not forget that every empire here has committed genocide or absorbed multiple other cultures at some point. I say Britain simply because they had settlements on every continent, and one of the largest trade networks ever, alongside the most powerful navy for much of the 19th Century and early 20th Century.

No they aren't. Japan slaughtered thousands of Koreans and Chinese. China has slaughtered the Manchurians. Rome? Really? They basically conquered and absorbed anything, killing thousands and wiping out many peoples in the process. It's an imperial process. There will always be genocide and slaughter as empires grow.
