The 2014 model is the base package. Think of the expansions as the optional extras, or modifications you've done to the product yourself. If you put better speakers in, or add turbo or whatever else you want to do, then they add these things in the 2015 model for the same price as the 2014 model. I see both sides of the argument, but we've been playing the game for a year, whereas others have been missing out. They're not being rewarded for not buying the game earlier, nor are we being punished.
