I believe the stand alone $40 TTK should be the deluxe edition for veterans and the $80 can stay the deluxe edition for newbies.
That is more than fair. Having to pay $80 just like a newbie when they're getting the game and every expansion is completely f**ked.

This makes SO much more sense. Everyone wins, bungie shows recognition and continued loyalty to their players and possibly, dare I say, leave room to bump up the price of the stand alone DLC. Besides, I don't think a newbie would know what to do with an exotic ANYTHING.
